A message from our Artistic Director:
I am delighted to unveil our brand new season here at the Groundlings Theatre. 2012
is very much a year of anniversaries and our vibrant, varied season reflects a number
of significant historical and cultural events. Two hundred years ago this year, Charles
Dickens was born in Portsmouth, and we at the theatre are very proud of our building's
unique place in the life of one of the world's most celebrated writers, being the
place where his mother went into labour with her famous son. Take a look at how we
are celebrating the life and work of Dickens here. And on April 12th 1912 the White
Star Liner Titanic sank on her maiden voyage after hitting an iceberg. To mark the
